My Crochet Pattern Was Featured in I Like Crochet Magazine (February 2026)

Last updated on January 21st, 2026

I’m still a little stunned as I write this — one of my crochet designs has been featured in the February 2026 issue of I Like Crochet Magazine.

This was actually the very first time I gathered the courage to apply to the magazine. I honestly didn’t know what to expect, so being accepted already felt unreal.

But I found my design featured on the official magazine page and included in their release email as well… and that caught me off guard totally. I’m incredibly grateful and quietly proud all at once. Dana was so wonderful to work with. Kind and incredibly supportive throughout the whole process.

Designing crochet patterns is something I pour so much care and intention into, and having a design published in a magazine I’ve admired for years is a genuine honour. This is one of my most unique designs, and I’m so proud to finally share it with you.

Meet the Marigold Bloom Shawl

The Marigold Bloom Shawl is a delicate celebration of beauty in simplicity — just like the marigold flower itself. With a motif that echoes soft floral bursts, this shawl brings both charm and quiet elegance to any outfit.

At the heart of the design is a mesmerizing filet stitch pattern that’s just as joyful to crochet as it is to wear. It’s rhythmic, calming, and deeply satisfying, making the shawl as enjoyable to create as it is to style.

The back of the shawl features four square motifs, joined seamlessly with crochet — no sewing required. From there, the front panels flow gracefully from either side, creating a beautifully unique pattern that makes you stand out.

Inspiration:

Hello hello! I just love this filet crochet pattern and it has been featured in many of my designs. One day, I was playing with it and swatching, and suddenly a whole new pattern came to mind. Incidentally it was lying as a sample in my head till I saw the Call for designers for I like Crochet magazine. And it fit perfectly, so I applied. The rest is history.

Yarn used

For the Marigold Bloom Shawl, I chose a DK / light worsted (weight 3) yarn. This allows the lace to look intricate without being difficult to work, while keeping the finished shawl light, airy, and elegant.

The result is a piece that drapes beautifully and feels comfortable to wear in any season.

Construction

  • The back panel is made using 4 crochet motifs, joined together with crochet (no sewing involved).
  • The front panels are crocheted directly from two sides of the back motif.
  • The front panels are mirror images of each other, giving the shawl a gorgeous symmetrical finish.

This construction keeps the project engaging while still feeling approachable and thoughtfully designed.

Skills Used

  • Knowledge of basic crochet stitches, techniques and terminology is assumed in written pattern, refer to pictures if needed.
  • Overall I would give this set an easy advanced beginner level rating and it is a fun project for advanced and intermediate crocheters who want to create gifts that work up quick.
